We bring over thirty years of experience to the table when helping our clients with complex health law matters. We provide strategic advice on how to navigate the increasingly complex legislative and regulatory landscape that impacts healthcare providers and professionals in Alberta and across Canada. We act on behalf of a variety of clients, providing advice on their operations and assisting with a variety of matters including:

Regulation of the Health Professions

Our lawyers have extensive experience as College counsel, prosecutors in professional conduct hearings, and independent legal counsel to a variety of professional regulatory bodies. Meadows Law is also able to assist professional regulatory bodies with the identification and implementation of Indigenous consultation, accommodation and reconciliation strategies.

Our lawyers have extensive experience interpreting the Mental Health Act and applying it in practice. We have been instrumental in developing educational materials that are used throughout the province to explain these requirements. We understand that mental health issues affect human rights, employment, and access to the judicial system, and we are prepared to help organizations and individuals navigate this complex landscape.

We understand how policy is developed, and we provide a full spectrum of services in this area, including monitoring legislative and policy development initiatives nationally and internationally, analyzing the impact of new policy or legislative initiatives on client interests and objectives and providing issue-specific advice to policy-makers and legislators.
